For the past four years, Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes has been a major part of my life.
After running a Star Wars podcast (Radio Free Tatooine) for about a year, John and I both noticed this goofy little Star Wars mobile game where you could pit jawas against stormtroopers and build teams with exciting new characters like Captain Phasma and Rey. We started up a second podcast called Galactic War Report that focused solely on this new game since we couldn’t shut up about it on Radio Free Tatooine. We eventually shuttered Radio Free Tatooine since the people seemed to enjoy Galactic War Report so much more.
We made friendships with our listeners, guildmates, developers, and other content creators. We’ve been invited to Star Wars Celebration, Capital Games (CG)’s studios, and made appearances on other podcasts as we all shared a love of this goofy little Star Wars mobile game. It really has been a wild ride- but the ride is now over.
After playing since November 2015, I have decided to move on from Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes. To all the listeners, guildmates, developers, and content creators I’ve met along this journey, I thank you so much! This community has been truly wonderful to me.
This decision was not easy for me, but it is the right one. I always thought I’d be playing this game until they turned the lights out on it, but the recent direction the game has been moving in is just not something with which I am comfortable.
We’ll have more info in our upcoming, and final, episode next week.
Forever Grindin’,
